On 21st March 2011, the organizers of the exhibition „Thrace and the Ancient World – Vassil Bojkov Collection” gave a special briefing and presented the exhibition to the journalists.

A guest of the event was the Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Todor Chobanov, who said in front the journalists that „the private collecting, which is of course done according to the rules, is supported by the state”.

“Today, in the National Museum of History (NMH), is opened, to my mind, the most significant exhibition in the area of the cultural and historical heritage not only during this year, but probably in the following ones as well,” stated the host of the exhibition and the Director of NMH Bozhidar Dimitrov.

The curator of the exhibition Prof. Ivan Marazov explained that “the collection is important for all the scientists dealing with the Ancient World. There are objects in it which go beyond what could be found on our lands.

Prof. Valery Stefanov, President of the Board of the Union of Collectors in Bulgaria, said that “this is the beginning of the emergence of the Thracian cultural continent, which after a long sinking started to come to the surface thanks to the joint efforts of the private collectors.”
